My Make Up Essentials

These are a few beauty products that I cannot live without. I use these every single day!

1. elf Tinted moisturizer is the best $3 I've ever spent. It seriously smells so great! It has an SPF which can make your face look a little pale in pictures (MUA tip!) but is necessary for every day life (aesthetician tip)! With Vitamin A, C, and E it is a perfect find for the bargaining girl like me!

2. Urban Decay Eyeshadow pencil in Sin. It is more toward the pricey side but it seriously lasts FOREVER. Sin is also the perfect color! I use this as an eyeshadow base on any skin tone! It really is the perfect product.

3. MAC Select cover up is camoflauge for the skin! I chose to buy this at random honestly and I LOVE it. It's the only concealer I have that actually covers 100%. It is perfect for under eye circles and blemishes. Surprisingly enough this tiny tube lasts months. None of my Benefit concealers are making the cut. Sorry Benefit!

4. Too Faced Lash Gasm mascara is something else I purchased by accident! During Christmas Too Faced sold a gift set with tons of little goodies in it for only $20 so of course I snatched it up! This is just the travel size from my gift set but I love it. I get so many compliments from this mascara!

5. MAC Studio Fix powder foundation is something I swear by for oily skin. Sometimes in the summer (especially in East Tennessee humidity)  liquid foundation can feel sticky and gross.. this powder form does none of the above! I do use my own brush to apply instead of the sponge it comes with. No particular reason why... I just like it better for a heavier coverage!

6. Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer- I had a hard time choosing between this and Benefit's POREfessional. I had to choose Too Faced because of my own personal choices. Primed and Poreless works wonderfully, has no fragrance, and is PARABEN FREE! My aesthetics knowledge comes in handy.

7. Benefit High Beam is my secret weapon. If I have a face full of make up on and no luminizer I feel naked! This product gives you the perfect dewy look. It brightens up under eye circles and adds a glow to your face! CAUTION: When using this product do not over apply. Also do not apply if you will be taking photographs with the flash on. Or you will get a shiny face like I have 80% of the time. In my case I don't care about the pictures.. I just love the look in person!

My Fitness Journey with Blogilates

If you know me you know that I will not shut up about Blogilates. Cassey Ho is an online workout guru! She is an inspiration to myself and thousands of other followers. I am so obsessed with her. Every month Cassey posts new workout calendars for a daily workout that is amazing! Each workout takes around an hour a day and you actually have fun doing them! She also offers meal plans, has an online store, and much much more! Please check out her site. I am her biggest fan. For real. To learn more about her click here.

Click here to print this months calendar! To get these emailed to you on a monthly basis sign up for her email subscription! You won't regret it I promise.

Two years ago I gained the freshman 15.. who am I kidding.. more like the freshman 25. I went from being hardly 100lbs to 129lbs. Which hear me out, I'm not saying that is fat at all! I am 5'1 and with such a petite frame that weight was VERY noticeable. I honestly just got to the point where I felt so bad about myself I didn't want to do anything. I wouldn't go out like a 19/20 year old does. I was embarrassed to run into anyone from high school because I knew they would say "Did you see how much weight she gained?" Not a way to live... Around July 2011 I found Blogilates on tumblr by total accident. I tried one of her videos and loved it but it was way too hard for me! And honestly.. I didn't want to work out. Working out was a chore to me. It was a punishment. I let myself go. It was my fault. Self pitty.

One day I woke up at my lowest point (not to mention largest size) and decided I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I stuck to the Blogilates calendar probably 90% of the time. I ate clean for every meal every single day. When you eat a grilled chicken salad every day- you crave a grilled chicken salad every day! Instead of that vege and carb with your lean protein have double veges! These tiny changes helped drastically compared to my "Let's get Sonic Mozz sticks with a Cheeseburger and Tots" lifestyle. With time and dedication I lost a total of 25 lbs and am now the happiest and healthiest I have ever been. Losing extra body weight is awesome for the confidence and glow that everybody craves! But what is more important is how healthy our bodies are and how they function.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a personal trainer. I am not educated in fitness. I am not a dietician! This blog is about my own life/story/opinion. No negative comments please!

***UPDATE!
I emailed Cassey a link to my blog and she actually read it and took the time to respond AH

Why I break up with my blogs... and why I won't ever again!

I've tried TravelPod (while living in France). I've tried tumblr (at a "hipster-I-love-tattoos" stage). I've tried WordPress (trying failing to start a fashion blog). So why am I on a roller coaster with this "blog lifestyle" that I love so much? I post religiously on Twitter and Instagram creating a micro-blog that seems impersonal. My twenty-something friends don't understand blogging or #hashtags... or even my "pen pals" I communicate with online but have never met face to face. It's fun to meet people in the online community with the same interests! Others with similar hobbies and interests not only inspire you but motivate to pursue your dreams, goals, whatever.

I break up with my blogs because:

  • I feel silly- "No one reads this.. who am I even talking to? Hello... Anybody....?"
  • When I'm in bad/sad/negative moods I regret what I say- "Did I really post that yesterday?" *punch myself in the face*
  • I know low lives that don't even matter stalk and judge every word I say- "Did you see her blog? Who does she think she is? A fashion editor? Who would take her seriously? No one cares about your opinions. I'm a mean bully with nothing else to do."
To those people I have one thing to say... okay maybe a couple things... I blog for me! I used to get upset and delete my posts because so and so told my exboyfriend so and so about this and that and-Whatever! People like that are the epitome of immature and at the age of 19 I cared what you thought. Guess what, now I don't. So creep away!

I vow here and now, with my French bulldog Tartuffe as my witness, (Yes, his name is Tartuffe) I will stop breaking up with my blogs. I will stop caring what nosey people think. I will stop quitting on my ambitions and dreams. I have this blog for myself and at the end of the day if no one else reads it but my mother... that is okay.

And why mascaroline you ask? I sat around for hours trying to think of a clever title and it hit me..... Mascara.....line.
